Financial Statement Analysis That Actually Makes Sense
Most investors spend hours staring at numbers without understanding what they mean. We teach you to read balance sheets, income statements, and cash flows the way professionals do—focusing on what genuinely matters for investment decisions.

Common Pitfalls We Address
After working with hundreds of learners since 2019, we've noticed the same obstacles keep appearing. Here's what trips people up—and how we help you get past it.
Ratio Overload
You calculate P/E, ROE, debt ratios—then what? We show you which metrics actually signal opportunity and which are just noise in different market conditions.
Missing Context
A company with high debt might be risky—or it might be standard for that industry. We teach industry-specific analysis so you compare apples to apples.
Accounting Tricks
Revenue recognition, depreciation methods, off-balance sheet items—companies have latitude in how they present numbers. We help you spot the adjustments that matter.

Building Real Analysis Skills
We're not about memorizing formulas. Our courses start with actual company reports and walk you through the analysis process step by step. You'll learn to spot red flags, identify competitive advantages, and build conviction in your investment thesis.
-
Statement InterconnectionsUnderstanding how balance sheet changes flow through to cash flow statements helps you see the complete financial picture rather than isolated snapshots.
-
Quality of EarningsNot all profits are created equal. Learn to distinguish sustainable earnings from one-time gains and aggressive accounting choices.
-
Competitive Position AnalysisFinancial metrics tell you where a company stands today. We teach you to assess whether that position is likely to improve or deteriorate.

Percival Thornwood
Lead Instructor
I spent twelve years analyzing companies for institutional investors before starting craitiayusex in 2019. The transition happened because I kept meeting smart people who were trying to learn fundamental analysis from textbooks and getting frustrated. Books give you theory—but analyzing real companies requires judgment that comes from practice and feedback.
Our courses use actual annual reports from Australian and international companies. You'll work through the same analysis process I used when evaluating potential investments, including the mistakes I made early on and what I learned from them.
Our next cohort begins in September 2025. The program runs for six months with fortnightly sessions and ongoing access to case study materials. We keep groups small—typically 12 to 15 participants—so everyone gets individual feedback on their analysis work.
